Tweet Heart Turns One

Now I know that Veva will probably never remember her 1st birthday, but i just had to go all out! this was such a fun little birthday party to plan for my very own daughter i just couldn't help myself. the trickiest part of the party was figuring out a theme, i didn't want to do the typical farm animal or trendy pink flamingo birthday. i wanted something that reminded me of Veva. thats when i thought to incorporate her nick name tweet, which comes from her papa calling her 'sweet heart' which later turned into 'tweet heart'. i then came up with a subtle color palette of blush pinks, tangerine orange, creams, and light violets. Veva is very much a girly girl so i thought it was appropriate to string cut out hearts everywhere to go along with the theme.

for the food table i wanted to display everything in a glass or white ceramic dish, i wanted the bar to look very elegant, colorful and delicious. i didn't do anything super fancy, i had an arrangement of fresh cut fruits and cream. i made all the homemade oreos adorned with gygi's white sprinkles. the 2 larger cakes where made by Macey's bakery, i custom ordered to match the theme of the party. the small naked cake i made for Veva. the cake stand i made at color me mine a week prior on my birthday.

the decorations are my favorite part. i saw these paper string hearts in a vintage boutique party shop several years ago and have always wanted to make make own for a party, well now i have and they are super easy todo. they are all cut out from old books then sewed together. all the balloons i ordered online at bargain balloons. one of my favorite parts of the design is the poster backdrop behind her highchair and her personal banner. my cousin just started up her own shop on Etsy called Betsy Lane Prints, i adore her work and she does custom prints! i had my husband use his photoshop skills to help me custom color the prints with watercolors. i made a little photo display of square images of Veva on a mirror of pictures from her birth till now for friends and family to enjoy.

Veva was just loving all the attention with so many friends and family to come and celebrate her!

now the flowers were a big part of the decor, i ordered them a week before the party to make sure i got the right selection i wanted. come to find out the whole sale shop i used got a majority of my flower order wrong. but my dear friend and design florist Melhauptfloral came and literally saved the day bringing in buckets full of beautiful garden roses, carnations and greens. the flower arrangements were gorgeous. i also made party hats for all the guests, which are super cute in photos but where a pain to make and keep on! i will never make them again haha. one thing i did make that turned out super fun where these Veva head straws, way easy to make and adds some whimsy to the party. also these 'tweet treats' or baby appetizers where also a hit with all Veva's cute baby friends everywhere!

we also were lucky enough to have a food truck called the 'Boba Shack' come and cater. its my little sisters, boyfriend who is starting up his own food truck company. this was his first party he has catered and it was a hit! everyone needs to go try a Boba from the Boba Shack Boba Shack

this party was so fun to plan, then see come to life. it wouldn't of happened if i didn't have so many friends and family help. Veva i love you so much happy birthday tweet heart!
